Mountain Sports in Summer: Verbier in Active Mode
Far from resting once winter is over, Verbier transforms into the alpine capital of summer sports. Ski slopes become some of Switzerland’s most technical downhill mountain biking trails, favored by thrill-seekers. On foot, hikes lead to the summit of Pierre Avoi or the Col de la Chaux, offering spectacular views of the glaciers.
Verbier’s golf course, suspended between sky and valley, features 18 holes at 1,600 meters altitude, surrounded by larch trees. For those who prefer heights, the Gentianes via ferrata or a paragliding flight from the Ruinettes promise unforgettable thrills. In Verbier, summer means performance, nature, and pushing your limits.
Mont Fort: A Breathtaking Alpine Experience
In summer, Mont Fort becomes a must-do excursion for visitors to Verbier. Accessible by cable car, this iconic Swiss Alpine peak reaches 3,330 meters and offers a spectacular 360° panorama of the surrounding highest peaks, including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Whether to admire the sunrise, explore the suspended footbridge, or simply enjoy an unforgettable view, a visit to Mont Fort promises a unique experience blending nature, thrill, and wonder.

The Lac des Vaux, a tranquil gem perched at around 2,500 m, offers a peaceful escape amidst majestic peaks. Traditional irrigation channels such as the Bisse du Levron line scenic hiking trails, combining spectacular panoramas with the soothing sound of flowing water. Adding to the charm are the mountain rivers that cascade through the valleys, bringing freshness and vitality to summer walks. These water treasures in Verbier are true alpine oases, enhancing the destination’s appeal for travellers seeking natural beauty and rejuvenating hikes.
