Grimentz The enduring Swiss tradition

Share

A hidden gem of the Val d’Anniviers

Nestled in the heart of Valais, Grimentz charms visitors with its authentic character and rich heritage. The Cave de la Bourgeoisie, dating back to 1550, houses the legendary larch barrels where glacier wine is aged, a rare Alpine tradition passed down from the region’s shepherds.

In summer, Grimentz offers a true escape with over 100 kilometers of hiking and mountain biking trails through breathtaking natural landscapes.

Ranked among the most beautiful villages in Switzerland, Grimentz is a perfect blend of tradition, nature, and Alpine art de vivre.

An Invitation to Recharge

As the snow gives way to blooming alpine meadows, Grimentz transforms into the perfect setting for a summer that is both vibrant and soothing. Panoramic hikes, mountain biking, scenic walks along historic bisses, local artisan markets, and open-air concerts, every activity offers a chance to reconnect with what truly matters.

For families, it’s an endless playground; for outdoor enthusiasts, a dream terrain. And for everyone, a precious escape beyond the rush of time.

A Village to Live In, Invest In, or Reconnect With

Grimentz is more than just a holiday destination, it’s a place to live for those seeking harmony between nature, heritage, and quality of life.

With a property market that blends traditional charm and modern comfort, it’s now possible to acquire an exceptional home in one of the most beautiful villages in the Swiss Alps.

A Living Heritage

In Grimentz, history is present at every turn. The centuries-old granaries, flower-adorned balconies, and cobbled alleys are all testimony to a carefully preserved heritage. A true symbol of the village, the Cave de la Bourgeoisie, founded in 1550, safeguards the legendary glacier wine-aged in ancient larch barrels using a method passed down through generations.

This unique tradition, rooted in the ways of former nomadic farmers, reflects a deep sense of continuity and the villagers’ strong connection to their land.

Grimentz is not just a place to visit, it’s a journey through time, where every stone has a story to tell.
